about the word "funny"

 

we use the word "funny" to describe both things that are humorous as well as things that are strange, unexpected, or illogical.

    i.e. that's funny. i thought i placed my keys here.

this shows up in other languages as well

(C) 彼はおかしい人ですね。 —> he's a funny guy

(D) 彼の頭はおかしい。—> there's something wrong with his head

 My mom broke bad news to me.. but I think I was in shock so I didn't really register it as that bad. We can still live happily but I need to keep my eyes facing forwards and not to doubt myself! T hey lose the day in expectation of the night, and the night in fear of the dawn. - Seneca I think I had the wrong view about what it meant to live. I felt indignant, like my time was being robbed from me when I had to sit at home to study for the MCAT instead of going out on a sunny day, when I went out to have fun at night but still had a pit of anxiety reserved for the work I did not complete.
